more dresses

Writing and sharing the start of my autoblography yesterday was incredibly freeing. I intended to do it last Friday, and made enough distractions that i "ran out of time". Each day through the weekend, I went through the same process... and became aware of the fact that I was avoiding it and procrastinating. Plus, I was worried L&N would find the post, through facebook or something. I see Nikki sometimes and she's a really nice/genuine person now and I enjoy talking to her, but there's still an intimidation factor. Monday I got an encouraging email from a stranger who reads my blog (i think she'd prefer her story private) but basically she gave me the courage to share mine and get to it. I stayed up till 6 am till mine was done, and hit publish. Then I sat there waiting for a validating comment that made me feel safe sharing my story. They came quickly and they were so sincere. To my surprise, a lot of girls (now women) had gone through similar stories and it made me really glad I'd shared my own story. There's safety in numbers, knowing I wasn't alone really did something to the healing of my past, and from what I read, it was helping others too. Thank you so much to everyone who read it, shared, supported and sent love!

In Chapter Two, you'll see things start to get better. Until then, I encourage you to write out your own Chapter One. You can burn it after you write it or share it with a loved one you trust. It's not really about what you do with it after; more so, the process of writing it out, let's it out and you will probably feel some healing or celebration for your own Chapter One.

Thank you for your warm hearts,
Love Leigh-Ann

ps. I bought 3 more vintage dresses :) Wanna see?

  9. I've been feeling like I need to get back to being more personal on my blog too. I started out that way, and then got sidetracked. What keeps me reading other blogs is feeling a connection, and connection comes from sharing what's real. I'll be stepping out in that area again soon.

I love the new dresses and would love to see a photo shoot of you wearing them!!! =) xoxo

  16. Thank you for sharing your tale with us. I agree that putting things into actual physical words can be the most satisfying (and scary) task. Keep going!

  18. more pretty dresses, I'm jealous (in the good way)! Chapter 1 was heart wrenching, honest, raw. I can't help but feel like that still goes on today in so many forms and for some reason today more girls are pressing down on that knife. You have a powerful story and opportunity to help so very many. I love you.
