Making buttons was one of my first craft projects I obsessed over as a teenager. I would cut stuff out, glue it onto an old ugly promo button, then seal it with packing tape. The big one in the middle is from back in the day ;) Member these Ashli??? Heeehehehehe ;) The rest are ones I've collected over time :)
At Christmas, I bought these 2 little ones for you and forgot to do the giveaway :) So today, we'll have a GIVEAWAY! Enter your name and the name you wish you had. (like, My name is Leigh-Ann, but I wish my name was Jenny). And you get a Freckled Nest button too :)
I'll pick a winner after the weekend :]
Hi Talisha! (no link; she doesn't have a blog)
Lol... Jamie emailed me this convo her and her friend Talisha had at lunch today. I blushed ;)
Jamie: I'm going to open my etsy soon. Leigh-Ann is doing my banner for it.
Talisha: Who is this Leigh-Ann you talk about?
Jamie: She and I email all the time. She's so funny. She's the one from Canada. You know.. the one I'm going to Springfield to hang out with. You know..Freckled Nest. That's her.
Baaahahahaha!!! I wish Talisha would come to Springfield with me!!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteLove the buttons! The glasses one is soooo great!!!!
My name is Toshimi, but I didn't like how people couldn't pronounce my name (really, it's Japanese and completely phonetic!), so I've always wished that my name was Grace (which is my middle name), but no one wanted to call me that since there were too many girls named Grace around when I was growing up.
ReplyDelete& I read that wrong...I wish my name was Jalee. Or anything different and unusual. I've always hated my name.
ReplyDeleteHi Leigh-Ann!!! Right now I'm singing "Hey sister, go sister, soul sister, flow sister..." That's EXACTLY how our conversation went...and I definitely sound like a stalker! I hope I get to come with Jamie and meet you...and hopefully I'll get a blog up and running even sooner. :)
ReplyDeleteMy name is Stacey, but I was supposed to be Taylor....long story why I ended up Stacey. I still always wish my name was Taylor.
ReplyDeleteTalisha--- if you come, I'll bring my video camera, and we'll make a music video ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sM46pzXfYNE
ReplyDeleteI wanna be Mia ;) Who are you and Jamie gonna be?
For real, you should totally roadtrip with Jamie! We'll have so much fun!
My name is Sarah, but the only other girl name I've ever loved is Anikka....so of course I had to name my daughter that (5 weeks old this Tuesday!)!
ReplyDeleteHa! I'm pretty certain Jamie would be Pink. While Christina may have the body, I think I'd be Lil Kim! She's got the personality. ;) I'm working on getting to come. I need a fun trip!
ReplyDelete"I" my name is Ivy and that's cool and all, but I think Olive would be a lot more fun.
ReplyDeletei totally love the name Olive!
ReplyDeleteMy name is Janelle, and my family calls me Jenny. I go by both. I would choose my daughter's name; She is Elizabeth, with the nickname Libby. She goes by both, too.
ReplyDeletejjeller612@aol.com
My name is Ashley...and I think it's way too common. :/ I always wanted something more old fashioned...like "Sophie" :)
ReplyDeleteThat was actually the name I picked to have in French class in middle/high school, lol.
I am convinced that you will never meet a stranger! Well at least they won't be a stranger for long!
ReplyDeleteand I gotta tell ya my Mema wanted met to be named Jennifer but I wouldn't rather have any other name in the whole wide world.
wellllllll.. my name is jillian.
ReplyDeletebut sometimes i wish my name could be like addison grace.. but most days i really LOVE my name..
also love the buttons, and glad to see you are a 'to write love on her arms' supporter too!!!
My name is Kathryn. I go by my middle name, Elaine and I love love love love love the name Elaine because it's unique and I only know a select few people who actually GO by Elaine! <3
ReplyDeleteBUT if I could pick another name, I think it would be Margot. Because I think its pretty and funky and exotic all at one time.
Margot...
I don't really wish i had a different name I wish i had an extension of my name. cause my name is Mia but I wish it was Bella Mia because in Italian that means my Beautiful! :)
ReplyDeletehey girl!!
ReplyDeletemy name is shaina...and if i could change my name, i really don't think i would. its unique already and suits me really well.
i'm hoping that still counts to get entered in the draw for the pins. they're so freakin adorable!!
<3
that is such a cute (and flattering!) conversation! :P
ReplyDeleteMy name is Holly... and I've always really liked my name. The other names my parents had is mind were Rebecca, or Heather... both which I'm not super pumped on, so I'm glad they picked Holly.
But if I could choose, I'd love to be called Demetra, or Delilah... I like "D" names.
My name is Adele and Ive never really wanted a different name, but I did pretend in primary school that my middle name was alexandria because we used to play a game where you could move forward extra spots depending on whether you had certain letters in your name!..and I always wanted to win. Wasnt I cheeky! hee hee
ReplyDeleteMy name is Jaime, but could you please call me Cordelia? ; )
ReplyDeletewelshgrl2@gmail.com
Hi Leigh-Ann!!!
ReplyDeleteI've always thought my name 'Kim' was boring! and Kimberley is sooo formal and I always think of the powerrangers. haha. pink is totally not my colour.
anyway, i have a huge crush on the name 'Dylan' and 'Ebony' and 'Riley'.
i think i'm a Dylan. i don't know. maybe that's just my Bob Dylan love something through. haha.
those buttons are soooo cute!
kxo
(oh, i have an artcrush on you, but... shhh? [: )
My dad named me after his first love. The story is that dad met a station master's (uh, what's the American/Canadian term - 'rancher?')daughter with dark hair and her name was Diane. So his first dark haired daughter was destined to be named Diane. A little creepy but an awesome name.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to be called Lilly or Veronica. I think they are still nice 'old fashioned' names with a bit of kick.
My name is Danielle and growing up I always wanted to be called Anna.
ReplyDeleteNow..I'm not so sure. I think I like my name now. Maybe I would opt for my middle name as it seems more proper and change it to Elizabeth.
My name is Stephanie.. as a kid I desperately wanted to be Tiffany (who knows why.. it's so similar *eye roll*). But now I like Ava. I think I'll save that one for my children, if I can talk hubby into it.
ReplyDeleteMy full name is Annette, people call me Anne, but I LOVE the name..
ReplyDelete..LILA..
..Princess Lila Bananahammock. :)
oxox
Well my name was suppose to be Justine and my dad didn't like it, then I was born in April and my dad didn't like that...so I ended up with Debbie from Debbie Reynolds and absolute hate my name...there was always 6 Debbie's in the class...now I would have loved Justine but now I think I kinda like LuLu!!
ReplyDeleteMy name is Katie, which I don't mind, since I was named after my grandmother, Kathryn. But My great-grandmother's name was Lena Mae and I've always thought it was the most beautiful name I'd ever heard.
ReplyDeletemy name is elizabeth, but i so wish my name was gypsyrose!
ReplyDeleteHello Leigh-Ann!! I {heart} you and your blog too. My name is Gina. (Which I've always hated, by the way.) So, when my best friend's little girl starting calling me GiGi 17 years ago because she couldn't say Gina, I kept it. I introduce myself as GiGi and I sign anything unofficial with GiGi. I can't think of myself having any other name now. I'm GiGi. :) Love the buttons!! Thank you so much for the fun giveaway!!
ReplyDeletethose buttons are the cutest!!
ReplyDeletemy name is fiona, and it's ok, i wouldn't choose a different one... but if not, i'd love to be audrey or erin :)
My name is Melissa but I've always wanted my name to be Taylor. :) I really don't know why, I guess as a kid I thought it just sounded good. Taylor is a pretty name.
ReplyDeleteP.S> Leigh-Ann, seriously (and I'm not sucking up here) I have never seen buttons more adorable than yours! I need to get on the ball and order some for all of my friends! ;)
ReplyDeleteawesome idea...you are so money!
ReplyDeleteanyways, my name is kinsey (which i used to hate when i was younger- mainly because they never made pencils or keychains with my name on them...it was a very bad situation for a while there) but now, i really like that i have a unique name (don't know any kinseys my age, lol) but...i love the name ruby so that would be my alter-ego :) maybe i could force myself into multiple personalities? hmmm, let's work on that shall we? hahaha!
Hiii! :) Cute giveaway! My name is Shilo, which I like...however, since a lot of the people around me are European, they pronounce it Sheee-low, instead of Shy-low. I wish I just had a French name--something like Elodie. :)
ReplyDeleteGoodness, I've always thought I didn't love my name...but what would I choose for my name to be?? Maybe Katherine, and be called Kat. :)
ReplyDeleteHahahaha - this is TOO funny - my husband and I were talking about what our names should be this morning.
ReplyDeleteI'm Katie, but I think Ginger would be super fun. It's an upbeat name that sounds super spunky.
I'm definitely okay with Katie, though... I can't wait to be middle-aged and be Katie, not Kate... there aren't many around.
:) Thanks for the giveaway, Leigh-Ann!
My name is Hannah, and I don't really wish my name was anything else. Though in 5th grade I used to make everyone call me Cammie.
ReplyDeleteOK Leigh-Ann, this is funny because Aunty Sandy, Susan and I always wanted to call our own daughter Jennifer Dawn, Jenny for short. We'd argue over who's going to have that name, and none of us ever named our daughter that. Funny that this the name you like, Jenny for short.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what name I'd like, but I always wanted the name Mom.
Anytime anyone asked what I wanted to be when grow up, it was always to be a MOM.
I love you and thanks for the entertainment you give me everyday. You know I love to read your blog, more than once a day that is.
Love Momma
my name's amanda. I was originally supposed to be penelope-ann. But i've always loved the name Lola. I'll name my daughter that when I have kids. Either Lola or Sofie.
ReplyDeleteMy name is erin but I wish I had more of a girly name like Lucy. I don't like that I have a boy/girl name. Actually... my daughter's name is Penelope Lane and I would have loved to be named that.
ReplyDeletewhat a cuute convo! and i can't wait to go to springfield to meet you too! and you jamie!! ;D
ReplyDeletemy name is jari = (jerry) and growing up i HATED it...i ALWAYS got jarI like a jar of jelly and and eye! sick!

ReplyDeletewell, i´ve always liked my name, Inka, but if i had to say something else, i´d like to be Ella. :)
oh, and i´d love to get a button machine of my own. it would be fun to make them!!!
love you!!
My name is Jessica, which I've always liked, but the first time I heard a Counting Crows song about a girl named Emory, I wanted that name. I told Joe I wanted to name our daughter that (if we have one!) and he said "like an emery board?" followed by "that's a man's name!" Whatever!
ReplyDeleteHey, Funky Finds turns 3 today! Enter to win a newly designed FF tee on my blog!
awwww Mommma... I was hoping you'd post one, I wanted to hear what you'd wanna be if you weren't Sharon. Your answer actually made me happy-cry, you're so beautiful! And it's so cute that you guys all fought over that name ;) But I'd want just Jenny (not Jennifer).
ReplyDeleteLove you Mom and Everyone! These entries are fun to read :)
LA
Hi Leigh-Ann...didn't read you the past 2 days-flying...anyway, glad I checked out those days so I didn't miss out on trying to win those super cute buttons-super fab!!!
ReplyDeleteSo my name is Holly BUT when I was a kid I always wanted my name to be Nancy or Lisa-not sure why--now I am OK w/Holly!
(love your blog and if I don't read it I feel like I've forgotten something all day! Think I'm addicted to your posts??? lol)
ok, so i think these comments are the funniest! Especially Anne's...Princess Lila Bananahammock gave me tears in my eyes!
ReplyDeleteMy name is Kimberly, but I go by Kimi...I like anything with funky spellings. I like Bryn, Adysen, Raegan!
This whole convo is a hoot! Thank you for a much-needed Friday-in-tax-season giggle!
ReplyDeleteMy name is Nancy ... not a bad name, but ... it so seems to not be "me". I'm not sure what name I'd choose instead but it'd have to be something unique, something different - and I've read a lot of names on this convo I love. This truly is something I think about from time to time, but can't settle on any one name ... boohoo! ;o)
I have a girl crush on you too! It'd be hard not to :)

Oh, and I wish my name was Emma. Sorry for posting twice.
ReplyDeleteMy name is Sandra. I think it's so boring. I love a name like Astrid. Now how cool is that? My dentist is named Astrid. It's just unique and not many people here have that name.
ReplyDeleteI would so love to be hanging with you, Jamie and Talisha in Springfield. I'll be there in spirit of course.
Hey Leigh-Ann! I always read your blog and I'm in love :-)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, back to your request...my name is Justyna (it's Polish), but I wish my name were Roxy. It actually almost *was* Roxanna, but my dad changed it at the last minute. I know it's kind of a "stripper name," (nothing against strippers...) but I still love it! To me, it sounds like a fun, relaxed name...since I wasn't fortunate enough to have it, I named my Shih Tzu Roxy :-)
Live on, Roxy!!
xxx
My name is fine, it's Monica. But after the lovely Pres. Clinton scandel it was horrible ! Every single day I heard where's ya blue dress ?! Ugh, nasty.
ReplyDeleteI've always thought Ruby would just fit me better. Love the name.
Hope you have a great weekend!
My name is Alicia (pronounced Aleasha) I have never really wanted another name. I like the nicknames that come with mine like Leash, Lish, Mish, Leasha, and especially when little kids pronounce it Weesha or Weesh.
ReplyDeleteMy name is Nicole, I go by Nic. I wish that my name was Katheryn so that I could go by Kitty.
