fanclub: Labelmakers

Growing up, my parents labelmaker was red and I loved using it to label everything :) When I was 17 and got my first job at McDonalds, they punched out "LEIGH-ANN" in blue and I had to hide my excitement. At my apartment/dorm in bible school, my 121 on the buzzer was yellow and I grinned everyday as I walked in. Nothings changed, I still love punched labels and over the last few years, I've discovered the machine designs are even better than I could of imagined and I feel a new collection coming on... these are the one's I'm keeping my eyes open for (especially the dog)!! :)

  2. Owwwww I have a TON of regrets of things we sold at my grandparents' estate sale (the piano, most of my gramma's library, records, etc)...but as a young'un I had to listen to the adults that we "couldn't keep everything"...if I could go back in time, I would definitely rescue the label makers! I thought they were SO cool but didn't realize their usefulness.....I remember there being at least the pale blue one, and the red/white one.

  5. I love label makers, too. I used up all my parents tape all the time to lable everything... even to stick my address on evelopes to send out to my pen pals =) Now I have my own lable maker and still us it a lot.

  7. My parent's had a label maker with the green tape. I never could figure out how to get the right letter to print. So I'd just make random letter strips. But not too many strips. I didn't want to get in trouble for wasting it!

  9. I love the nostalgia of these too! They just don't make 'em like they used to... I recently bought a newer one and I can't get it to work right... I may have to try some of your links to get a sturdier model.

  10. i remember my parents having one and not letting us kids use it. The tape was too expensive to play around with. It was only for useful labels! lol They probably still have it, although it isn't as cute as any you have here.. just plain grey, but still...I wonder if they would let me use it now?

  17. My grandparents had one when I was a little girl and everytime I went there I'd label everything I could find! Even my parents got their own labels. There were blue, red and black ones. My little sister and I were always fighting over who could have it first. I totally forgot about them, thank you for reminding me! That was a great time (:

  18. When I was a kid, having a label maker was The Thing. You simply weren't cool if you didn't have one. I got whole notes from friends on them. So yes, I am a label maker fan!
