Color my Sunday, Week 11
Hey Gals, it's Keith (LA's BF). She's working on a big project so I offered to take care of this weeks Color my Sunday post with a special edition, Inspiring Cars.
This is a car that my Dad bought brand new in 1969. His was burnished brown, special ordered and $5700 brand new. I wish I coulda drove in it with him but I wasn't born yet.
I love old car ads, I wish they'd bring back this style (above).
mustang, 1970
...this ones for all of you girls ;)
Winged Express, reincarnated
This is my most recent model car, I built it for a club contest in December.
This is what I want to buy LA, she'd be so happy...
Thanks for joining me and have a great week,
Keith

Wicked. I love old cars. I drove my dad's 79 Lincon for a couple years when I was 16/17. It had leather interior, white top, and an 8 track. I thought I was pretty retro. Huge car - kind of hillarious.
ReplyDeleteGreat ads!
This is so funny - total dude post - LA's car is def my fave :)
ReplyDeleteNice! My fave car of all time is a '67 chevy nova...and it's gotta be a high gloss black...slick like oil. my brother owned one in highschool and occasionally he would, stupidly, let me borrow it to take my friends to lunch and stuff. i cried the day he sold it. *sigh* great post keith! tell LA we all said HELLO!
ReplyDeleteThat's so cute that you did this for LA. Your post brings back a few memories. When I was first married in the early 90's, my husband had a '69 Ford Mustang, red, that he restored. I didn't drive it though because it was standard... and I don't do standard, LOL! Then later on we bought a '66 Ford Fairlane - that thing was huge and I was happy when we sold it. My favourite to drive though, was the Dodge Dart. I forget the year, but it was pale yellow and I loved it! :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE the mustang. I'm a sucka for those. i want the one that didn't go commercial. the 1964, they made it as a model for racecars and officials didn't like it, but it was SO pretty and FAST!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on that they should bring these beauties back! Awesome!!
ReplyDeleteNice post Keith! I have to agree with penny threads about the Chevy Nova, it was the coolest car around. If I had my choice I would want the Corvair, it would make a cute summertime car. I think Holly has one.
ReplyDeleteActually all those cars were popular when I was a teenager. That just aged me. :(
Love Momma
Haha so awesome. My boyfriend has a 71 Mustang Convertible. :) It's amazing.
ReplyDeleteMy mom had a Corvair. Probably around that year, too.
ReplyDeleteMy dads 1960 El Camino just started up today for the first time in quite some time. He was more that ecstatic. When he dies I get the car. Hooray! lol
ReplyDeleteThank you Keith. I love that you posted a picture of VW station wagons for "us girls." It made me giggle.
ReplyDeleteMy grandpa used to have an '84 cherry red corvette... he would drive me around the neighborhood and fly over speed bumps! It was fun and amazing. How I miss that car...
love those vw buses! i'm dreaming of owning one someday...
ReplyDeletemy dad "collects" (if that's what you call it) Studebakers. he also has a couple old corvettes and one awesome baby blue avanti.
thanks for sharing!
My hubby's absolute dream car is the 69 Camaro.
ReplyDeleteYay! My step-dad has a separate garage out of town full of old Chevelles, Novas and Camaros (I had to look the spelling of Camaro up, it doesn't look right still). I wish they were all fancy colors like the last car though... maybe even a rainbow car :)
ReplyDeleteIs it every guys dream to own a muscle car? My dh always goes ga ga over the mustangs of old!
ReplyDeleteOh my! I loooove old cars!! :) (And how cute is it that you're blogging for LA?? he he...). Hubby and I are dying for a VW van - we want to bring it camping with us. They're so darn cute!
ReplyDeleteyay keith! my first car was a '69 camaro! no kidding!!!! it was the shiny teal blue with white racing stripes... black leather/vinylish seats... the crappiest brakes ever... but it was SOOO FUN to have being a freshman in high school. all the guys were jealous but it definitely was my dads baby (even tho i technically was the baby! :))
ReplyDeletethanks for bringing back these memories!
