Style School & a fun Tutorial...

style-school Elsie and I are excited to introduce Style School, our new online class focusing on discovering your personal style in your home, wardrobe, art and life! We'll share tons of our own style secrets though out the 30 amazing class projects, be joined with bonuses from our 10 most stylish friends, and everyone gets to create a Style File book that helps document, develop and express their style journey through the class and share it with others! It's going to be so much fun... watch for more info and sweet*previews this week and gather your reserves for this Friday when the class goes on sale! We have a bonus tutorial for all the early birds that you won't want to miss out on!! Stitched Vinyl Pouch Tutorial Today I wanted to share a fun little tutorial for something I made this weekend :) I've had this vintage vinyl pouch since summer but it needed a little personality and so I stitched my initials on it and now I can't wait to use it! 1. Choose a vinyl pouch with access behind the area you want to stitch on. 2. Draw your image or word with pencil so you can erase it if it needs tweeking... then use a needle or awl to pre-poke holes along the pencil line, spaced about half an inch apart or less. 3. To start your stitching, use a thick cordy string, yarn or embroidery thread, make one stitch and tie a double knot with the ends in behind. Trim the short tail and continue your stitching along the line. This is what the inside of mine looks like, the back-stitching is hidden in the pocket and can't be seen or snagged from inside the main part of the pouch. To end my stitching, I laced the string under some stitches, double knotted it then trimmed the ends. It was really easy to stitch with the pre-poked holes and I love the finished look :) Try this on something you already have and enjoy your handwriting or doodles in a new way! XO! Leigh-Ann :)

  25. I have never taken a class of yours but I think this one I will...we are buying our first house and hope to close by Jan 15th (it's a short sale) and I will have free reign to decorate as I please...we've been renting for years so decorating really isn't an option...time to find my style! I can't wait!!
