This is my favorite idea I've ever had...
While Treasure Hunting this week, we came across this Vintage Countertop Gumball Machine :) I think I almost ran to it...it was $30 (and I had a $5 off coupon, I love coupons), SOLD! And Keith cleaned it up really good; he gave it a bath and Tom kept jumping in the tub! Lol!
I'm not really a gumball kinda girl, so I tried putting marbles in it..... but then it hit me, "Why not BUTTONS???" There was excited screaming, dancing and I yelled it out, "BUTTONS KEITH! BUTTTTONS!!"... and we both did our excited move (it's a 'hands to chest and squint' kinda thing that was born when we got Tom). I would really like to gather a rainbow collection of vintage buttons, but I'm afraid if my friends come over and want to buy a dime, i'll be named "the crazy button girl who doesn't want to share" ;)
Here's a few other pretty things I found to keep :)
(A pretty old stationary box)
This vintage book is so yummy! I might make it into a notebook or just keep it to look at :)
(This is the back cover)
I joyjumped when we found this super sweet anthro yellow vintage luggage thing! It's my new purse :)
Old magnet letters...there's some neat colors, olive green, watermelon and indigo blue... plus lowercase letters :) I thought they might come in handy for a custom blog banner someday :)
And I wish this radio worked, it was really pretty and I've been looking for one for so long to send to Elsie and Jeremy. They love talk radio, but only have the car radio (while I was there, Jeremy often sat in the car listening to his favorite conspiracy program late in the night). I'll keep searching :)
Later this week, I'll post all the vintage things I've collected to put in my shop :) Polka dot scarves, bowties, an umbrella, vintage glass bedside lamps and some pretty old plastic hangers that were made in Canada :)
LA Tidbit: I've actually got treasure hunting under 'Interests' on my resume :) It's my longest living hobby :) What treasures have you found lately?
