Fabric Flowers IDEAS of How to Use Fabric Flowers - Use them as bows while wrapping Christmas presents! - Sew tiny flowers to a bobby pin and wear it in your hair! - Stitch a pin backing onto the back and wear it on your clothing, shirt or fanny pack :] How to make Rosettes/Yo-Yo's 1) Cut a circle from fabric; any size. 2) Tie a knot in the end of an embroidery thread, and stitch around the circle. 3) Once you reach the end of the circle, pull the thread till the edges of the circle pucker together. 4) To keep the pucker tight, tie two knots close to the fabric. 5) Flatten the pucker down/so it sits in the center. 6) Stitch a button into the center. Shank buttons look the best. How to make Petal Flowers 1) Cut a circle from fabric; any size. 2) Tie a knot in the end of an embroidery thread. 3) Stitch a line from the outside edge to the circles center. 4) Don't tie or trim the threads yet. NOTE: If you do 3 lines, you will make 3 petals. 5 lines = 5 petals. etc. 5) Once you've finished your stitched lines, pull all the thread tails (so they gather) and tie a double knot (on each) so the gathers stay put. 6) Turn over, quickly arrange the petals and add a button to the front. Another Idea: I added a few rosettes and flowers to the Tinsel Wreath idea Rachel shared at the RVA Blog :] Enjoy! These are really fun to make :]
