Hey Leigh Ann! Thanks for the kind words on the UnPubbed Blog! I can't even tell you how many times I watched Dirty Dancing on a Saturday afternoon... here is a line that makes me cringe (for Baby) and laugh at the same time... "So Johnny, have you had many women?" WHAT??? You just woke up next to him and THAT is what you are going to ask? LOL... :)
ReplyDelete"...the way i feel when i'm with you..."
ReplyDelete… that lead-up to the “night” for the first time … who wouldn’t feel like that for a one-night with Patrick Swayze!
Leigh-Ann – this movie is my absolute all-time favourite. I’m going to have to go see it at the theatre – thanks for posting the dates.
Thelma
When Baby and Johnny are first dancing/practicing and Johnny says: "Look, spaghetti arms. This is my dance space. This is your dance space. I don't go into yours, you don't go into mine. You gotta hold the frame." And then later in the movie Baby reminds him of that! hehe! Love it! Great scene! Best movie of all time!!
ReplyDeleteAnother really great one. When Penny tells Baby (after all the drama) "Go back to your playpen, Baby." Can't forget that one!!
ReplyDeleteSeveral good quotes all in the matter of one scene. Starts off with Baby saying: "So they FIRED you, because of me!"
ReplyDeleteBaby's upset that Johnny get's fired, he tries to calm her down and she say (this ones classic): "You were right Johnny, you can't win no matter what you do!"
ReplyDeleteohhhh! we've got a serious contender here!! (jc!)
ReplyDeleteGood god, guess I am toooooo late. Now you ALL have me to thank for this, I am the one who told Leigh-ann and gave all the info, therefore because of that, I should win the contest. :P
ReplyDeleteI love when Robby finds Baby and Johnny together hugging and he goes, "Wow, looks like I picked the wrong sister"
Johnny then jumps over the decking, and goes "HIT ME!!!"
Same sceen after all the fighting Baby calls to Johnny as he leave's "Johnny" I have been told that I do that impersonation quite well. :P
Robby's being a slime ball giving Baby a book to read (I believe it's Fountain Head)
"Stay away from me, stay away from my sister, or I'll have you fired"
and then pours water down the front of him. LOVE!
I am a huge fan.....like Leigh-ann said I will probably quote the entire movie during it! :P
xoxo
Mand
Dude, I don't even need a prize... I totally love that movie!! Gonna have to watch it today after I get home from work! I LOVE that song, She's Like The Wind. hehe! Gotta love old school Patrick Swayze!!
ReplyDelete"Okay now, ladies,
ReplyDeletewhen I say ""stop""...
you're gonna find
the man of your dreams.
Stop!
Remember, he's the boss on
the dance floor, if nowhere else."
"I shouldn't have to remind you.
ReplyDeleteThis is a family place.
That means you keep your fingers out
of the water, hair out of the soup...
and show the goddamn
daughters a good time.
All the daughters.
Even the dogs."
"Just put your pickle on everybody's
ReplyDeleteplate, and leave the hard stuff to me."
"And girls, please remember that you promised to respect him in the morning."
ReplyDelete"I'm gonna do my kind of dancin' with a great partner, who's not only a terrific dancer; somebody who's taught me that there are people willing to stand up for other people no matter what it costs them; somebody who's taught me about the kind of person I wanna be, Ms. Frances Houseman"
ReplyDelete"Sit down Jake"
-----------------------------------
"I think she gets this from me"
(watching Baby dance)
-----------------------------------
"Oh, come on, ladies. God wouldn't have given you maracas if He didn't want you to shake 'em"
-----------------------------------
"Me? I'm scared of everything. I'm scared of what I saw, I'm scared of what I did, of who I am, and most of all I'm scared of walking out of this room and never feeling the rest of my whole life the way I feel when I'm with you"
-----------------------------------
"Yeah it takes a real saint to ask Daddy"
-----------------------------------
"Don't put your heel down; don't put your heel down"
-----------------------------------
"Its not on the one its not the mambo its a feeling a heartbeat, go, gong, go, gong"
-----------------------------------
"Oh, yes, as a matter of fact it is. We're supposed to do the show in two days, you won't show me the lift, I'm not sure of the turns I'm doing all this to save your ass when what I really want to do is drop you on it"
-----------------------------------
BEAT THAT!!!!!!!!!!! :)
“and I thought I'd never find a guy as great as my dad”
ReplyDeleteIt’s in Baby’s talk-over introduction at the beginning of the film. Does a girl ever find a guy as great as her Dad. First Love – that’s what a Dad is. Poor guy who has to try to live up to him!
"I have to say it. I'm known as the catch of the county"
ReplyDelete(Neil Kellerman telling Baby what a catch he is! What a pick-up line! And such a “modest” idiot he is.)
Jake Houseman talking to Johnny at the end :
ReplyDelete"When I'm wrong, I say I'm wrong."
Okay – if that isn’t a Dad in “shining armour”. Lends well to the other line about finding a guy just like Dad.
Lyrics from the song …
ReplyDelete"I’m having the time of my life, and I owe it all to you!"
Kathomp, Kathomp goes the heart !
ok, it looks like all the good lines have already been taken. I have to participate someway since Leigh-Ann is so great at commenting on my blog. LOL!
ReplyDeleteJohnny: "Sure Neil. No problem. We'll end the season with the pachenga."
No idea where this is actually said in the movie, I actually got it online...
have i won yet?
