a weekend in the hamptons

2 years ago, my mom and dad bought a cabin for the family. It was pretty sweet to begin with-very orange color scheme though- but now we've relaxed in it for a year, its time to Bob Villa it up/Martha Stewart it up! Dad has always dreamed of building a house, and mom has always dreamed of a Cottage Chic Home. So thats what they're/we're doing! Its going to become a 5 bedroom, 2 storey, almost waterfront retreat...with an amazing screenroom thats like the hub. Think "Hamptons"/Somethings Gotta Give(the movie). So this weekend, the first big (visual) step happened. The cement for the additions foundation was poured. YEAAAAH!! Mom, Dad, Grandma and Grandpa, Kody have been out there working till 10:30pm everyday to get the forms ready for cement. Then, this Saturday, a crew of our family, friends and my dad's coworkers came out to haul cement and whoop it! My back has been out for about a week, so i was just a tapper/stickperson, but everybody worked so hard, and it was amazing!! Dad was so cute, he wore a tank top.. which i've never seen before, and mom was right in there with the men. Thank-you to all our family and friends who joined the team to help make our families cabin expansion possible! Thank-You!! Most of all, MOM AND DAD---THANK-YOU FOR CREATING THIS FAMILY CABIN, for yourselves, your children, your grandchildren, your family! Thank-You! We love you!
We were so excited to see the cement truck arriving!

Pictured, most of the group that came out for cement day. what a team!

  4. Enjoyed your pix of the Lake but I have already seen the movie "A Weekend in the Hamptons". It is being released to a selected audience. If you would care for one I am sure Wayne would fix you up.
Eldon managed to get all the footage between working and filming quite smoothly. It was well done and will be a wonderful keepsake for your whole family.

  6. Good Morning

Hey sweetie, I finished my update this morning, I was able to upload my images after you left for work, but I couldn't get them to be side by side, I think the idea gets across though.

Anyways, have a great day at work, and I'll see you at 4:00.
