DIY: Spring Garland
This is one of the easiest spring decorations I've ever made and it's highly likely that I'm keeping mine up all year, for for-ev-er! (sandlot) It's like a Christmas cranberries garland but my with my favorite visual, Freckled Eggs!! ;)
You will Need:
- Foam Eggs (mine are from Dollarama, but any tiny foam decorative object will work. I used 4 packs and need to buy more so I can make a longgggg garland)
- Thick Thread
- Sharp Needle
- Scissors
- rubber thimble (optional)
Cut a wingspan of thread and tie a knot at one end. Pierce your needle from the bottom of the egg through to the other tip (the bottom has an indent that helps line everything up).
Note: Some of the eggs had huge spots on them or the foam broke... if you have enough eggs, leave these ones off your project.
Continue threading eggs until you fill your string or run out of eggs then tie a knot at the end. If you make a few strings, simply tie them together so that you can hang them as one. To hang your string, tack straight pins on a frame or wall and drape it accordingly.
And it helps to have a little partner while you craft... Lola makes everything more fun for Lala ;) She always pokes into photos and even poses sometimes!
I'd love to see photos of your Spring Garland in the Freckled Nest Flickr Group :]
Please Note: Tonight is the last chance for Indie Business sign-ups :) Class officially begins tomorrow! If you haven't received your access email, please email indieworldwide@gmail.com

ReplyDeleteLove it, looks quick and simple. I signed up for the indie class, looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteI have no clue where to get styrofoam eggs like that for that cheap, but your garland looks so pretty. I usually make garlands with popcorn, but those go stale after being out for a while.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute. I have been trying to brain storm on how to decorate for spring/easter and how to not make it lame. This is so the opposite of lame, it's so pretty and creative. I may have to try this.
